Buttons

Somewhere amongst these buttons...

or these...

or indeed these...

is the button (or combination of buttons) that stops my lovely flying saucer becoming F**KING INVISIBLE when I try and put it into the footage where it's supposed to be.

And yes I have tried turning it on and off again.

Bah.

UFOn and On and On...

Back at the grindstone good and proper now. The UFO is coming along a bit since way back when...

It now has a few dashes of colour.

Magic. But damn! the 3d the process is sloooooow. It's like that bit in Wizard Of Oz where Dorothy steps out into Oz and it's all in colour and shit - if Wizard Of Oz was slowed down to a painful one frame a day.

Looking a bit nicer though.

Construction

Beginnings of the UFO for the UFO viral (we filmed the footage into which this will eventually go this time last week):

Coming along nicely...

Glowing Well

It's non stop, wall to wall, adrenaline pumping excitement here at Lord Tunley mansion!

I have spent an inordinate amount of time today trying to make glowing lights in 3d animation spodfest programme Blender.

BlenderGlowTest from Gareth Tunley on Vimeo.

Next time you see them they will hopefully be attached to a UFO.

(fellow nerds: here's the, only mildly hair tearing inducing, tutorial that showed how to make stuff glow. ...mmm ... "nodes")

UFOhhhhh

Some (really very) rough sketches for ufos for this viral we are shooting, hopefully within a month or so.

Should I keep it simple stupid or go for some kerrazy multi-tiered affair? hmmmm. the shot will be pretty dark so probably won't matter much so long as there's loads of flashing lights and shizzle.

Spooky

Location scouting/ camera tests with Josh Topp for this viral type thing we have planned.

That's Josh in the window btw not some random stranger, although I did get some funny looks from a police van at one point...

...thence to a dingy 'spoons pub for refreshment.
