There Is Nothing New...

... under the sun.

As demonstrated by this oddly beautiful blog thread.

Still straining under the weight of actual paid work. But plan to return to Lord Tunley shenanigans soon.

Kermy

While I struggle with new depths of geeky spoddery and work-for-hire bore-athons feast your eyes on this bit of mental brilliance (from Paul O'Connell)

(It's a web-comic so clicky clicky to read it)

Mug's Game

I made a mug:

Big whoa I know. Animation moves forward slightly slower than continental drift.

Meanwhile, amuse yourself with more beautiful stupidity from MrZeeMeMe and deranged genius Tony Millionaire...

Fantastic Bird

For reasons known only to my Jungian analyst I have become unhealthily obsessed with this clip from Judex.

It's the music by Maurice "Jean Michel's Dad" Jarre as much as anything else. I'm almost afraid to watch the rest of the movie for fear it's not as good.

Warghhhhhhhhhh

Struggling through some post sync dubbing for Going On I was reminded that this is the single best moment of ADR ever recorded by a human.

Good old Mike Schank. From "American Movie" the funniest, darkest, sweetest, most movingest 'making of' doc ever.

Frightful

Old Lord Tunley compadre Stuart Barr has started reviewing movies for the Frightfest website including this demolition of something called "Wrong Turn 3". My fave bit is where the cast "gets lost and wanders around the shrubs at the bottom of the producer’s garden for a bit".

One day I will direct a feature and Mr Barr can trash that too!

Alma

This, by Rodrigo Blaas, is great...

Alma from Rodrigo Blaas on Vimeo.

Amazing in fact... it's only gonna be on Vimeo for a while apparently so clicky clicky now.

Shadowplay

I visit here most days. David Cairns covers unusual films with wit and is responsible for the all time best opening line from a film review ever:

"Like a flaming banana fired from the trunk of an invisible elephant, this movie aims to surprise"
